Paul Richards Trio

The Paul Richards Trio are already exciting and delighting audiences wherever and whenever they appear. With exceptional musicianship, staggering interplay and fresh, unexpected arrangements this is a group that manages brilliantly to fuse latin, classical, jazz and samba into a thrilling musical experience. On classical, nylon string guitar, Paul Richards is a virtuoso; effortlessly interpreting and reinventing the “chôros”, sambas and waltzes of composers such as Pernambuco, Cardoso, Villa-Lobos and Baden Powell. His technique and muscular musical sensibility, combined with superb improvisational skills is making Paul one of the most talked about guitarists on the scene at the moment.
He has performed on stage with Soweto Kinch, Dave O’Higgins, Joe Lee Wilson, John Altman & Nigel Price amongst others.

Alongside Paul, the trio features Steve Thompson (Scott Hamilton, Ken Peplowski, Joe Locke, Alan Barnes, Warren Vache) on double bass and Tony Shepherd on drums (Bobby Wellins, Jim Mullen, Oasis); well known and highly respected jazz musicians in their own right who bring a infectious groove and intensity to the music that has to be heard to be believed.

Already featuring in a number of musical festivals such as Love Supreme, Rye Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Guiting Music Festival, Tonbridge Castle Festival and  and selling out Jazz Clubs including The Verdict, Brighton and jazz @ Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Paul Richards Trio are a proven success with festival goers and Jazz aficionados ; receiving rave notices along the way:
