7 scale shapes, Sussex Jazz Guitar School

In our quest for mastery over the fingerboard and to be able to create long, flowing jazz lines flowing between shapes so we are not stuck in position, here is a diagram of all the 7 scale shapes I use.
The   CAGED system seems to miss 2, thus missing out a mountain of possibilities.

As a reference system, where the 1st finger is on the 6th string you can call each position terms such as… first finger on 1st fret –  F Ionian or position 1, or the 1st finger on 3rd fret – G Dorian or position 2…. etc..

The red notes are the extra  notes added to ensure 3 notes per string to develop the twisting, turning, spiralling lines.
