Sussex Jazz Guitar School prep is here! Just have a look at these inversions of F major and F minor triads on 3 string sets…
Strings 321, 432, 654
We will expand on these triads, using them as a basis for work which will help in Jazz Duo, Solo Jazz Guitar and even the Jazz Trio format!
I demonstrate on various string sets, the F major triad in root position – FAC – root, 3rd, 5th
In first inversion this is ACF – 3rd, 5th, root
2nd inversion – CAF – 5th, root, 3rd
On the video it starts with strings 654 – it’s – 1st inv, 2nd inv , root pos
on 432 it’s – 2nd inv, root pos, 1st inv
on 321 it’s 1st inv, 2nd inv, root pos
The same pattern of inversions follow for the minor triad – F, Ab, C (note the Ab is the minor 3rd making it a minor triad)
See you down the Brunswick this Saturday 22nd , 11am for more concepts and fun on improving your Jazz Guitar!
