We’ll be having great sax and flute player Paul Greenwood down this Friday at Brighton blue Note, Hove actually. The band starts at 11pm with bands from Brighton jazz school warming up proceedings from 8pm with free entry all night until 4am. Paul’s many performances include residencies at Ronnie Scott’s as well as a tour with Buddy Greco and numerous appearances at Jazz festivals in both the UK and Europe. Paul was also a member of the Heritage Orchestra, the Cinematic Orchestra and played with Airto Moreira . He joined the jazz-funk band “Incognito”, composing music for their album “Tales from the Beach”. Whilst freelancing in London, Paul has performed with numerous artists including Darius Brubeck, Paul Weller, Josh Ritter, Dean Parrish and The London Jazz Orchestra. He currently performs with British soul artist Michael Kiwanuka.
Eddy Myer who you may have seen on Mondays tearin it up at the Bee’s Mouth jazz jam sessions with Luke Rattenbury n Loz Thomas will be on bass. As well as being a jazz man, Eddie teaches at BIMM (Brighton institute of modern music) passing on his well honed skills from years of playing and touring to up and coming fledgling rock stars and session musicians and has been a member of the band Turin Brakes since their inception in 1999, recording on their gold-selling albums and touring and performing on TV and radio around the globe. He’s also performed and recorded with many other acts such as Bah Samba, Lucky Jim, Ben’s Brother and Ozric Tentacles. Drummer tbc and I’ll be on guitar duties.
