Jazz trio, Bristol Arms, Brighton

Tomorrow Thursday 17th, the Paul Richards trio will be playing Jazz, Latin and more at the Bristol arms, Paston Place, Brighton, East Sussex.  Starts at 8pm, free entry

This trio is one of my favorite projects which features Sam Glasson on drums and Nick McGuigan on Bass.

Myself and Nick started a jazz duo around three years ago where we also explored a lot of Brazilian music including samba and choro.  We also added some Argentinean pieces such as Milongas and some Venezuelan Waltzes.  When asked to play at the 2009 Brunswick Jazz festival, we drafted in great Latin Drum specialist Sam to make the trio.

We recently performed at the Forest Row Jazz club to a brilliantly enthusiastic and attentive audience.  Tomorrow’s trio gig will see classic choro pieces from Pixinguinha, Pernambuco, Sambas from Baden Powell and popular bossa nova pieces by Jobim and Bonfa, classical guitar pieces which I have arranged for the trio format plus some of my own original compositions.

Will keep you posted of any more gigs whether they be solo guitar, duos, trios or large bands!
